The Men of the Church will meet this Saturday morning at the church at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, fellowship, and prayer. All men, age 18 and over, are not only invited but welcomed to attend. (No one told the editor who’s cooking, but I’m pretty sure you’ll get an extremely tasty breakfast along with great fellowship…)
This spring, the Huber Heights FISH Food Pantry will be participating in the Meijer “Simply Give” program. From May 14 through Jun 18, you can take a “Simply Give” card to the Meijer store, 7150 Executive Blvd in Huber Heights (just north of I-70) and donate ten or more dollars at checkout. When the program is over, Meijer will match the donations dollar for dollar and give the proceeds to the Huber Heights FISH pantry to buy food for our folks in need. (Note: On Jun 2 and Jun 3, Meijer will double the amount of matching donations. So you get more “bang for your buck”)
Donation cards can be obtained from Jane Jones at church, from the Heights Cafe, 6178 Chambersburg Rd, Huber Hts (next to the library), or from stands in the Meijer store.
Thank you for your generosity.
The viewing for Robert Prenger will be Thursday, May 18, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster, OH. Funeral mass will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine’s. The family is very grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.
Robert Prenger passed into the nearer presence of our Lord this evening. The family was able to have a time of praying and singing with him before his passing. More information will be forthcoming. In the meantime, please pray for Pat Prenger, Karla Herman, and all the children and grandchildren.
We thank you, heavenly Father, for the life of your son Robert Prenger. We thank you that you have opened to him the gates of larger life and received him. Grant, O Lord, to all his loved ones the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness in past years, and in the sure expectation of a joyful reunion with those they love; and this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen
Martha reports this afternoon that Tom is home from the hospital and on the mend. She is so very grateful to everyone for their prayers and encouragement.

Bob Prenger, father of Karla Herman and Pat Prenger in our parish, as well as Dr. Kris Prenger and other siblings, is entering hospice care today. Please keep Bob and the family in your prayers as they move into this transition.
Almighty God and Father, you know our hearts as we pray this day for comfort and peace for Bob in his move into this new aspect of your life’s plan for him. We ask that you will make your presence known to him in very real ways, that he may spend his days in the knowledge of your love and care and in fullness of joy. We pray for the family and ask for wisdom and courage for them as they attend their beloved father. We put our trust in you, knowing that you hear our prayers as we pray in the name of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

From Martha — Tom was admitted to Soin last night due to a blockage. The hydration seems to have helped but they are keeping him at least one more night.
O God, who knows the needs of all your children, look with compassion upon your sick servant, for whom our prayers are offered; give him courage and confidence; bless those who minister to him with your healing gifts and, according to your perfect plan for him, bring him to that perfect health which is your alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
From Karen Burns — Please pray for Wendel Smith (Andrea Burns Smith’s father-in-law). He is very sick, and has been hospitalized.
Almighty God, you have the well-being of each of your children in your heart. We pray for our brother Wendel and ask for your healing grace and mercy at this time. Comfort him with a sense of your presence and give peace and hope to his family and loved one. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Some keys were found in the parking lot at church today. If they are yours, please call Dss Candy (572-6682) to make arrangements to get them. They are locked in the church currently.
