Prayer Request

Just learned that three of the Roberts family are down with the flu right now.  Nathan, so far, is okay.  He is scheduled to be confirmed on Sunday.  Please pray for healing for the whole family and for protection from the virus for Nathan.

Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and our healer, we pray for healing for the Roberts family.  Your word tells us that “The Lord God is a sun and a shield” and we ask that You would be a shield for the other members of the family from any infection or sickness.  We pray for soundness of body and complete cleansing from any virus or bacteria.  We thank You, Father God, for Your great love for us and we entrust our brothers and sisters to You for Your mercy which never fails.  We ask this, Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ, and through the power of Your Holy Spirit.    Amen

Update on Marianne Morse

From Bp. Morse:

Marianne and I went to one of her doctors today who has been in consultation with all the other doctors from the beginning of her treatment. He informed us that due to possible damage to her internal organs due to toxicity they have decided that continuing chemotherapy is a risk that is not warranted at this time. At the conclusion of her radiation treatments they will reevaluate the need for chemotherapy.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

Dan and Marianne

Almighty and most merciful Father God in whose hand is our life, we pray for our sister, Your servant, Marianne — for her complete healing, for rest, for comfort, and for encouragement.  Thank You that You are with her through this ordeal and that no weapon that is formed against her shall prosper.  Thank You that Your word promises that there is nothing that can separate her from Your love and from Your mercy.  We pray also for Bishop Dan, that You will continue to bless and strengthen him as he cares for his precious wife.  We entrust them to Your loving care, for the sake and glory of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.   Amen

Update on Marianne Morse

From Bp. Dan Morse:

Dear Friends and Family,

After prayerful consideration and consultation with doctors, Marianne will begin radiation and chemotherapy on Tuesday, January 22nd.The treatments will be done simultaneously, with radiation each day for 28 days and chemotherapy one day each week. We are convinced that the aggressive character of the newly discovered tumor calls for this. Please join with us in asking God to make this effective for her complete healing.

Thanks to all of you in advance for your love and support.

Almighty and all-loving Father, we pray for Your daughter Marianne — that You will comfort and sustain her during this course of treatment; that You will give great wisdom to all those who attend her; that You will raise her from this dreadful disease and heal her; that both she and Bp. Dan will have the encouraging sense of Your presence with them during this time; and finally that all of these things will be completed for the sake and glory of Your son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen

Prayer Request

From Jay Eppinga:

I have a prayer request for the church blog.  Our friend Jean is pregnant with her second child, and has been informed that her baby might not be getting what he or she needs from the womb.  She’s at about 23 weeks, and the specialist is talking about transferring the baby from the womb to an incubator.  Please pray for wisdom for the doctor and the most favorable outcome for Mother and baby.

Almighty Father of all, we pray for Jean and for the precious life which You have placed within her.  We thank You for Your goodness and lovingkindness, knowing that You have plans for this wonderful gift of life — plans for good and not for evil.  We ask that You place protective angels, strong and ministering angels, around Jean and all those who care for her.  Give wisdom to the doctors and nursing staff and work Your perfect will in all things in this situation.  We pray this in the Name of Him who came to give us life and that life abundant, Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen

Prayer Request

We have received word from Bishop Morse that his wife Marianne has had a positive diagnosis for cancer in the lymph gland, following a needle biopsy yesterday.  They will be meeting with the doctor at Vanderbilt tomorrow to discuss treatment.  Please keep both Bp Morse and Marianne in your prayers.

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we give You thanks for the lives of Marianne and Bp. Morse and we pray now for them as they proceed through this next medical crisis, knowing that You love them far more than we can comprehend and that Your plans for them are for good and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope.  We ask that You would visit them by Your Holy Spirit with comfort and encouragement, that You would strengthen them, and that You would heal Marianne of this cancer. In Your time, we pray that she will be raised up to wholeness and health for the sake of Jesus Christ and for His glory.   Amen

Harry, and a great time of prayer.  Take about 90 minutes to start your day on Saturday praying with the other men of the church.
