Update on Fr. Randy Uselton

From Fr. Franklin Sanders:

At 12:30 noon today I saw Fr. Randy, sitting up and eating with gusto, MUCH improved.  He did physical therapy this morning, and his physical therapist said to him, “Boy!  You came for business.”  Got 90% flexion in his knees.  He is much more alert, less swollen, the low sodium level apparently was solved last night by normal saline IVs.  (Those levels in my email, by the way, were missing the first digit, and should have been 123, etc., not 23.  Normal range is 135.)

Thank you for your prayers.  Please join me in praising and thanking our gracious heavenly Father, and please keep on praying for Fr. Randy and Sheila.  Specifically, please pray that God would graciously and speedily heal Randy both in body and soul, working in his body to renew what has been lost and injured, and in his soul to renew what has been wounded through suffering.  Pray that God would now make up for him these years of pain that the locusts have eaten.  Please pray also that God would cover him and Sheila with the peace of Christ who makes all things and all his sons and daughters new, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer Request

From Fr. Franklin Sanders, Christ our Hope Anglican Church, Westport, TN — This request is for Fr. Randy Uselton, a priest in our diocese.  He is in the hospital right now with extremely critical and urgent health issues.  Please pray for him.

O Father in heaven, save your servant Randy.  We know that you have never failed those who call upon you, and we now with one voice call upon you to save our beloved brother Randy.  Rise up, O Lord, and show yourself mighty on Randy’s behalf, and save your servant whom you have redeemed with your own precious blood!  In Jesus blessed name, Amen.

Urgent Prayer Request

Tammy and Dave Abshear’s daughter-in-law Marlene is in the hospital in Springfield with blood clots.  Tonight Tammy got the call that they had broken loose and one was in her lung.  Tammy is on her way to Springfield now.  Marlene just delivered a beautiful baby boy, Sebastian, a few days ago.  No more details at this time — but God knows.

Almighty God, King of the Universe and Lord of All, we pray for Marlene that You would sustain her and heal her.  We pray for her husband Chris, daughter Alex, and son Sebastian as well as the rest of the family, that You would comfort and uphold them, encourage and strengthen them during this time of great anxiety.  We cry out for Your mercy for this family and pray that Your presence would be tangible and close to them, that they would draw close to You in this time of great need.   For Your mercies and Your healing, O God, we offer You thanks in the mighty and precious Name of Jesus Christ.    Amen

Thanksgiving Basket Delivery

Our parish is partnering with the Riverside JayCees again this year to provide and distribute Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets to families in need this holiday season.  The distribution will be on Tuesday evening, November 20.  It usually takes about an hour or so.  Exact time and place to meet will be provided this coming Sunday at church and will be posted on the blog as well.  If you can help in this wonderful outreach effort by giving up an hour or so on Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving, please let Fr. Chris know as soon as possible.   (937/604-4949)

Acolyte Training Saturday

For anyone who is currently an acolyte or who would like to be an acolyte, we will have a training session on Saturday morning at the church — 10:00 a.m.  The training will only last about an hour, but it is very important for you to be there.  If you have any questions, please contact Dss Candy  (572-6682)…See you there!

Prayer Walk Saturday

The weather on Saturday promises to be clear and cool — a perfect day for walking through the Forest Ridge neighborhood to pray for our neighbors.  Come and join us at 9:00 a.m. at the FR Gazebo.

We walk for about 45 minutes, then come back to the Gazebo to share any experiences or thoughts before going on our way.  This is a marvelous way to reach out in prayer and “do the work You have given us to do”, showing forth God’s praise “not only with our lips, but in our lives.”

Hope you can join us!

Prayer Request

From Karen Burns:

My great nephew, Nash, (just turning a year old this month) has an infection in his foot and will need to stay a couple of days in the hospital.  His mother requested a “few prayers”.

O almighty Father, who understands our pain and is never-failing in Your love for us, we pray for Your tiny child, Nash, that would surround him with Your love and care, give wisdom and compassion to all who tend him, and let the healing power of the Holy Spirit  be his portion.  Let Your loving presence be especially felt by his family and all who love him so dearly.  We ask these things in the name of Your son, our Savior and our Healer, Jesus Christ.   Amen
