Please pray for Paul and Karen Burns’ grandson, Robert. He was sick recently and his nephrologist (kidney doc) requested additional blood tests. The tests show that his white blood cell count and his liver enzymes are abnormally low. The doctor, who is in Sioux Falls, wants him to have tests done at the Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Andrea, Lucy (her two year old) and Robert will travel (319 miles) there on Tuesday. Andrea is trying not to panic, but is having a difficult time not imagining the worst. Please pray for Robert, Andrea (and Dave), the doctors she will be dealing with, and their travel.
Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen

Come to the annual 4th of July pool party at the Forest Ridge Pool, 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 4th. A concession stand is available to purchase lunch, drinks and snacks. There is no cost, no pool passes are necessary. Just come and enjoy the games and the pool. The pool is at 6801 Union Schoolhouse Road near the corner of Union Schoolhouse and Valley Street. For more info contact Karla Herman.
Our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Bash is scheduled for Saturday, August 4, from 11-1, at the McMahan Mobile Home Park on Valley Street. A major school supply distribution (this year we’re going to try to supply 500 elementary and middle school kids with all the necessary school supplies to get their new school year started right!) The Riverside JayCees have partnered with us and we’ll have games, prizes, food, and lots of surprises. Everyone’s help is needed — time, talent, and treasure. If you want to be part of this wonderful outreach, there’s a place for you. Fr. Chris and Carol Herman are heading this up. To sign up, you can put a comment here on the blog, or you can go to Facebook to “Back to School Bash” and click on “attending”. For further information, contact Fr. Chris or Carol.
Most important — please be praying for this outreach, for those who are working on it, for those in the community who are supporting it with donations, for adequate finances to come in, and for all the children who will benefit.
Let’s make it a great year for them!
The next COH Men’s Group will be held Tuesday, 10 July 2012, 7 p.m., at the home of Chuck Evanhoe. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We will continue to work our way through John Eldredge’s book, Wild at Heart, and will cover chapter’s 3 & 4. Come on out, and bring a friend!
I ask your prayers for my 4 year old granddaughter, Luci, and her parents Ian and Jenn. She was bitten by a dog owned by the family where a Girl Scout activity was being held. So at least the dog is known. She had two bad bites one punctured her soft palette the other on her cheek. She had 2 hours of surgery with an excellent plastic surgeon Sunday night and is now in her room. She will go home in the morning. We are concerned for both the physical and psychological impact of this experience on Luci.
I give thanks for every one of you.
God bless you and thank you,

Please pray for the Sebree family. Ron Sebree has recently taken a bad turn and yesterday the doctor said he probably has only two weeks to live. Pray for his wife Patty as well Becca, Daniel, Nathan, and Terri.
O God, our times are in Your hands. All our days are written in Your book. We pray for your children, Ron and the whole Sebree family, that this time You have ordained may be passed in Your grace and mercy. Holy Spirit, You comfort us always so we ask that You would extend comfort to this family and point them to Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen
The men enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship and discussion last night at the Filling Station. Our discussion got us through the first two chapters of John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart. Mr. Duane Veley was elected as the facilitator for the group. Future meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. If you are interested in participating, save the second Tuesday evening of each month on your calendar and contact Duane for more details.
Dear Christ Our Hope:
Do you have an older sewing machine model that you could loan out for about a month? There are 12, probably more, refugees who are in need of some basic sewing skills in order to get jobs at Honeywell. Pam Laughlin can teach them, but she has only one machine. Pam needs some more machines for about one month. She prefers older machines with just the basics, nothing fancy. The guys only need to know how to sew in a straight line and make a square corner. If you have an older machine you would be willing to loan out for use at Christ the King, or if you know anyone else who may be able to help out, please contact Pam as soon as possible (pamlaugh @ gmail.com). Thank you!
Men of Christ our Hope:
Our first Men’s Group meeting will take place tonight at the Filling Station, 4317 Linden Avenue, Dayton, OH, 45432. Our meeting begins at 7 p.m. and should be over by 9 p.m. We are meeting in a private side room.
Tonight we will discuss our thoughts, insights, likes, dislikes, etc., on author John Eldredge’s book Wild at Heart. Even if you haven’t finished the book, it will be a great time of discuss to learn about what John says in this book and to offer our own insights and experience. See you there!!!
There is an event at the church this evening until 10:15 p.m. With Mike and Jen’s accident, we will need help cleaning up following this event and setting up for church tomorrow. If you can help for an hour or so this evening, please call Pat Prenger (545-0631). This is a wonderful way for our parish family to support Mike and Jen as well as the rest of the parish. Please call Pat and help if you possibly can!
Mike and Jen Slone have been in an automobile accident and are currently at Greene Memorial Hospital. Fr. Harry is on his way over there now. Please pray for them. Details as they become available.
Almighty God our Father, Jesus Christ our Healer, and Holy Spirit our Comforter, we pray for Mike and Jen Slone at this moment that You would sustain, support, comfort, and heal them of their injuries. We thank you for preserving their lives in this accident and for Your presence with them even now. Keep us reminded of Your care and keeping of them and remind us to keep them in our hearts and in our prayers, for Jesus Christ’s sake, in whose name we pray. Amen
