Prayer request – Nicole

Many of you know Nicole and Larent from Rwanda. Nicole is pregnant with twins, they also have a toddler. She is on Dr. ordered bedrest to try to delay birth until the end of Feb.

Laurent works nights and has to take her to the Dr. twice weekly. Nicole is very, very tired as well.

Please pray for the health of Nicole and the babies and the family’s well being.

Although Springboro is far away from our North Dayton neighborhood, perhaps some of you will be in the Springboro area on Thursday and will be looking for a place to eat…

v Come Out and Help Support the Fine Arts Department

There’s a new kind of FUNdraiser in town that’s so easy! You have to eat, right?! Well, you can feed your family and support the Dayton Christian Band and Choir at the Springboro Max and Erma’s on State Route 741 on Thursday, February 3rd, with the attached flyer. Don’t forget the flyer! The more you eat, the more money we raise, as 20% of each check is donated back to the DC Band and Choir. The Fundraiser is all day long. If you have friends, family and co-workers that want to have lunch, dinner or carryout, send them in with a photocopy of this flyer.

Many thanks in advance from the DC Band and Choir for your support and for dining at Max & Erma’s on February 3rd. The DC Band and Choir are traveling to Chicago to participate in a music clinic at VanderCook College of Music May 13-15, 2011.

Thanks for supporting the Fine Arts at Dayton Christian!

prayer request

One of the foreign students where I work had to go home suddenly this week. It seems his father is very near death. He had a heart attack/triple bypass surgery on December 26th, but ever since then has been in the ICU with pneumonia. Unfortunately, this wasn’t communicated to Michael because his mother didn’t want to worry him. (He knew about the heart attack- he didn’t know his dad had not recovered.) Pray that he’ll have safe travels there and back, and that the time with his family will be well spent. I know it will be stressful on him to come back here to classes next week (as I presume he plans on doing). He knows the church, but doesn’t really practice (he’s Greek Orthodox). Pray for peace for him, provisions for his mother, that I can be a good friend to him, and that he’ll be able to rely on God in this (and possibly change his life/priorities).

Please pray for Candy’s eye. A hemorrhage formed again. She can see very little in her left eye. It sounds like she will go through the same procedure as before – a nasty shot and then eventually the laser procedure to get rid of the part of the retina that doesn’t have enough blood supply.

Dear church family,

We have secured a house for Jerome and Ernestine whose home burned Sunday night. We need to move them in tomorrow (Thursday). This is something of a crisis as Red Cross support for their hotel has now expired, so read this as an urgent plea for helpers, trucks, and boxes. The move will be from 109 Warder St. to 50 Neal Ave, a very short hop. If you can help tomorrow afternoon, please contact Barb at 878-9826. Thanks!
