Prayer Request

While we were in Tennessee visiting our son, we received the news that my daughter Janet’s stage 4 cancer has spread to her liver. She is in surgery right now to remove two clumps of cancer; the procedure will take about 3 hours. Please forward this to our family parishes with a request that prayers be continued to be offered up for her and her family. Her daughter Jessica is having a very difficult time with her mother’s health situation. Prognosis is grim, but I’m clinging to my faith and hoping for a miracle if that’s God’s plan. On the way home, I couldn’t stop the tears and wondered where my faith went! We’re supposed to trust, and I’ve been burdened with fear, so I can also use some prayer. We’ll be going to the hosptial as soon as we unpack. It appears that her radiation therapy did work on the lung cancer. Cancer cells are still present in her thalmus gland.

Thank you and ALL my Christian brothers and sisters for all your prayers. Remind me, GOD is in control! Dorothea F.

Nursery schedule

Hello – Theresa asked me to ask who would all like to be on the nursery schedule. Some of the younger girls would like to help in the nursery, but they need to be overseen by an adult. Are there any adults who would like to be on the nursery schedule?

prayer request:Laurent, Nicole

Some of you may remember Nicole and Laurent, the couple from Rwanda/Congo who used to attend CKAC. Nicole is six months pregnant with twin girls. Laurent e-mailed me saying that the obstetrician told her that the babies could come any time. Please pray that she can carry her babies to term. thanks, Sherrie

Christmas Play practice tomorrow!

We have only 2 practices left until our performance on Sunday, the 19th! Please look over your lines and look over the words to the songs. The next practice is this Wednesday at the church at 7 o:clock. Please bring your costume on Wednesday so that we can try a dress rehearsal.

If you cannot make it on Wednesday – please let me know. I might try and have a practice another time – Saturday, the 18th in the morning or afternoon – if too many people can’t make it on Wednesday.

Also – please invite your family and friends to our performance at the church on Wednesday, the 22nd. We will serve a soup supper at 6 o’clock, followed by the play, then dessert. I’d love to see our church full of guests on Wednesday, the 22nd. Please bring soup and a dessert to share.

Thanks for all the hard work the children are doing on the play.

City BBQ Fundraiser

Dear Christ Our Hope,

If you would like to, here is an opportunity to support the Dayton Christian Band and Choir. This would benefit our congregations band and choir members: Suzie, Carolyn, Theresa Herman and Bob Prenger. Thanks!

Hi!

So the Middle School and High School bands and High School choir are going on a trip to Chicago to play at Vandercook College and at a church in Chicago. We are doing multiple fundraisers to try and raise funds for this trip. Would you two be willing to e-mail the attached flyer out to parents? All you have to do is show up at City Barbeque on Tuesday night, hand them the attached flyer, and we get 25% of what is purchased!

Thanks!
Sarah Britton

prayer

I just received this from my niece in Kansas. She and Tracy have been close friends since high school. Karen B

My friend, Tracy, has Spina Bifida Occulata, which (long, painful story) means she has to have surgery where they will take a bone from her hip and glue it to her spine. The surgery is supposed to take place on Monday. She received a phone call today that her insuracen company is denying the surgery because of something silly with the “bone glue”. She is trying to stay positive. Will you please pray with us?

crib pick-up

Dear church family,

We are still in need of someone to pick-up and deliver a baby crib to Neal Ave.. This is for Innocent, who has been attending CtK with his family, and the need is pressing as the crib they had for their 5 mo. old is broken. This is possibly a dangerous situation for the baby, and her parents are understandably anxious to get a new crib. The family who is donating the crib lives in Beavercreek and will be home tomorrow during the day. Is there anyone who can help with this? If so, please contact me (Barb 878-9826 baharvey) Thanks!

crib pick up needed

Dear church family,

There is a family on Neal who needs a baby crib. I’ve located one, and now I need someone with a van or a truck who can pick it up and deliver it, preferably as soon as possible. If you can help, please contact me (Barb, 878-9826, baharvey) Thank you!
